12th August 2009 - British fireworks championships - Plymouth
For the 13th year the city of Plymouth is hosting the British fireworks championships. For two nights in August, 6 teams provide thousands of spectators with fantastic displays. Using Mountbatten breakwater for the displays, crowds line Plymouth Hoe and Jennycliff to watch. Plymouth Sound is full of small boats looking for a spectacular viewpoint.
For heat 2 on Wednesday evening I decided to use Smeaton's tower as a focal point.
First up was team 4 Vulcan fireworks.
The weather is a little more cloudy than last night, leaving warm glow around the lighthouse.
The second display of the evening is from team 5 Celebration Fireworks.
The sixth and final display is from Highlight Pyrotechnics.
