Gol-Jowan (Golowan) is the midsummer feast of John.
Golowan has evolved over the years into a 10 day festival of community events and music. The festival incorporates Mazey Day with its mardi-gras style of processions.
Underneath Humphry Davy's statue different groups of musicians perform during the day.
Other groups perform in different parts of the town.
